Good evening!

Today we had an assembly and students were able to meet the new principal of Walter and Gladys Hill Public School, Analee Nutter. She came to introduce the students to a contest that she is going to be holding. They are looking for a student in Gr. 4-6 from Timberlea Public School to create the new mascot and slogan for the new school! The students were pretty excited, and I hope people start thinking about how to use the school colours (purple and black) in interesting ways! What kind of mascot do you think they should use? I suggested “Walter’s Water Boatmen” in celebration of us finishing our Wetlands Unit, but I don’t think very many people took that suggestion seriously.

Today we finished our review of Wetlands. Students went through the information that they can use to help them to study for our Unit Test on Tuesday. We also played a small review game. Make sure that you review the different types of Wetlands that we learned about everyone! Some of the information covered we learned back in September, so people are definitely going to have to do some review this weekend.

We also created our display for the Winter Concert today. The students are going to be performing “Jingle Bells” at the concert (with Mrs. Wilson’s class) so we created a jingle bell themed display. Check out the picture below. We have also started working on our door decorations. More information about those to come!
