A first draft of our Harry Potter artwork. We changed our outside bulletin board and put up some Multicultural art. Some of our origami. Well done everyone! They are so cute! Also very colourful. Lots of detailed work by some students. Students were also using patterning. Some completed kimonos! Students were asked to consider the seasons and nature in their designs. Including our frogs. The display case looks great! Come see the variety of Art that each class worked on today. Working on our Keith Haring inspired sculptures. Students demonstrated a lot of teamwork in helping one another with their fish. They stand out against our trees! These fish turned out really well! Our “Fish in a Tree” inspired Art board. Don’t stare at it too long, you’ll get dizzy! Student’s then used line to create a 3D effect. Students were asked to choose hot or cold colours. He has been admiring everyone’s art. Some completed line art. Using rulers to keep the lines straight. Some of us chose some comfortable spots to work in today. Working on our outlines for our trees. Deciding which pink is a warm colour. Some students used a variety of mediums in their final pieces. Well done 4/5M! They then chose their own medium to complete their final draft: water colours, pastels (oil and chalk), tissue paper, markers, crayons, pencil crayons, etc. Students completed multiple drafts of each piece… up to three! Students worked hard during January to complete their own interpretations of the artwork that was part of the AGA’s Travelling Art Exhibit: Dreaming With My Great Mother. Students working together to examine and reimagine the artwork. Students worked hard and look at the details of the pieces. We were having a lot of fun. Some of us had to get a little closer. Others wanted to get into more comfortable positions. We will return to the exhibit next week to continue our work. Today we had a variety of materials to choose from in Art class: pastels, paints, markers, crayons, strings, buttons, beads, tissue paper, etc. Students are enjoying working together. And sharing each others’ work. If you missed our artwork in the crowded gym last night, take a peak at our tropical birds! Mele Kalikimaka! Students worked hard on this project over two days. I like that even though we used the same tutorial, our birds turned out so differently! Each one is unique. Well done 4/5M! Some student created snowflakes and candy canes. Our tree! Merry Christmas from 4/5M! Some of our paintings. Students works are all turning out differently depending on their choices. It was great to see students using a new medium.
